Two words can perfectly define my third week at Back Bay Mission: Hard Work! This week I had the amazing opportunity to work on a job site for the first time. Along with the volunteers, we were able to make groundbreaking changed to a low-income family’s home. When we first arrived, the home was almost uninhabitable. After only two days, we were able to see major changes in the home, and also connect with the family who lived there. After two days of scraping, lifting, painting, and tearing up carpet; I could see that the house was coming together beautifully. This week was truly one to remember and taught me the value of hard work and the satisfaction of seeing its results.
