Back Bay Mission is hiring two new Housing Case Managers!

Full-time position – 40 hrs week

Part-time position – 32 hrs week

These positions require the following Personal Skills & Personal Characteristics:

· A genuine concern and empathy for unsheltered individuals and people living in poverty

· A willingness and ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors

· The ability to demonstrate emotional maturity with decision making in the middle of challenging or difficult events and/or situations.

Education/Experience

· A bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field is required. A master’s is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.

· Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness and familiarity with HUD-funded housing programs, intensive case manager, and trauma-informed care.

· The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable populations, and a commitment to serving individuals with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Position Requirements

· Empathy for and understanding of problems, limitations, and needs of both sheltered and unsheltered individuals.

· An ability to effectively communicate, network, and partner with other agencies and the public.

· Support clients with job hunting or job seeking due to unemployment, underemployment, or to increase a client’s economic stability through improved employment.

· An ability to analyze socioeconomic conditions and identify unmet needs of those served on both micro and macro basis.

· A willingness and ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors

· An awareness of various assistance programs and entitlements available to the unsheltered, people in poverty, and individuals with disabilities.
