Emergency Assistance Case Manager Jill Cartledge wanted to share her thanks with everyone who has supported the Christmas Baskets and Backpacks project over the years. You can listen to her message in the video player above, or read the transcript below (we apologize for any errors in the transcript).
I haven’t had many opportunities to thank people as much as I’d like to. It’s usually relegated to the work campers that come every Monday, when I talk to them about the client-choice pantry and other projects that we have going on. But for some time I have felt the need to go beyond that to let everyone know, who has anything to do with the food pantry and our huge Christmas project every year: there is no way that I can put into words what you all have meant, both through the United Church of Christ and other organizations and companies and agencies that have been there for us all these years.
We have been doing the Christmas baskets since 2007. So this will be our eighth year of doing this humongous project called Christmas. What does that amount to? It amounts to 215 Christmas baskets to families in need and 100 backpacks for the homeless that you all have made possible through your donations of money and time and your wonderful service when you come down here and give your week to us.
You’ve made this happen for our clients. And there’s no way, like I said, I can put into words my gratitude.
Please know you’re in our hearts and on our minds this Christmas. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Back Bay Mission is a wonderful organization and Jill is a true earth Angel. God Bless All who support them.
Such a heartfelt thanks from one who, herself, is the heart that makes this BBM initiative beat with the commitment, compassion and caring it does, is a true message of the Christmas spirit of selfless giving. Thank you, Jill, for all your contributions over the years.
