In just a few weeks I have shared stories, ideas and conversations with people at Back Bay Mission as well as the people in this community. There is so much to take back home to Cleveland that it is overwhelming.
The level of organization and collaborations that have to take place for a system of resources to be able to raise a community are very alive here. There are many people that make it possible for this goal to be reached and it takes a team of people willing to listen, be honest and to be open to change. Back Bay Mission is teaching me the magic of collaboration and showing me what it takes to keep connections strong between different organizations so that they can serve this community the best they can. It takes many meetings, emails and constant editing of what is already in place to keep moving Back Bay forward. On top of what i have learned it’s been amazing how the staff, volunteers and the community have been very welcoming and always looking out for me. I can’t wait to see what the next eight weeks has to offer.
