It’s Thanksgiving week… and we just want to say ‘thank you’.

We talk a lot about the work that Back Bay Mission does, from emergency assistance and the Micah Day Center, to housing rehabilitation and Bridges Out of Poverty. We are grateful for the dedicated staff who spend their days serving the poor and marginalized of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

But the fact is that we couldn’t do any of this without you!

You donate hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to buy food and materials, pay staff salaries, and keep the lights on, among other things.

You give thousands of hours every year to rehabilitate houses, serve in the food pantry, and clean showers in the Micah Day Center.

You open your homes to Mission staff who are in your area, your pulpits to Mission representatives who visit your congregations, and your hearts to the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Thank you for all that you do to strengthen neighborhoods, seek justice, and transform lives on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!

I would like to take a moment and relay my sincere gratitude to the staff and management of the Back Bay Mission. I am a veteran currently working in Afghanistan and over the last few months I have grown to appreciate the mission and the people of your organization. I have learned many things about your vision and work in the Gulf Coast Area. I have also had the pleasure of watching my wife grow and succeed in your team of professionals for the last few months. There has been many positive changes and blessings personally and professionally relayed to me. My wife has been warmly welcomed and supported by your organization, she has found employment that is meaningful, and she has been supported and encouraged from all areas of your team. I feel my wife has found herself a home within your staff and organization.
There is no greater feeling than knowing that while I am away, my spouse is able to enjoy her job and be supported as a colleague and friend. Your welcoming to the Back Bay Mission has been heart felt by many and I can assure you that you have acquired not only a dedicated professional, but also an invaluable asset to your team and your program. I thank you for your time and look forward to your continued success in the Biloxi area and your amazing team.
