Christmas should be a time of joy and fellowship for every family, but many families on the Mississippi Gulf Coast lack the resources for a festive celebration of the season. Back Bay Mission provides backpacks (for our homeless clients) and baskets (for our housed clients) containing everything a family will need for a Christmas dinner. We also include some other necessary supplies.
More than 200 families have signed up to receive baskets and backpacks this year.
You can help make this wonderful project happen! Make your gift today!
Here’s what’s in every basket: turkey, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, canned or fresh sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy (packets or jars), hot chocolate, cornbread, sugar cookie mix and sprinkles, pancake mix, syrup, cornbread or turkey stuffing, cream of mushroom soup, french fried onions.
Here’s what’s in every backpack: socks, hand sanitizer, hand warmers, canned ham, flashlight, poncho, batteries (AA, AAA, D), chapstick, transistor radio, christmas candy, plastic silverware.
Other items may be included depending on availability.
