Back Bay Mission’s Food Pantry was recently awarded a generous $5,000 grant from Operation Round Up, an initiative of the members of Coast Electric Power!
This grant will give our Client-Choice Food Pantry the opportunity to meet the growing demand of providing supplemental food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

In recent years, demand for our Client-Choice Food Pantry has surged with a record number of people seeking assistance. In 2024, we served 4,852 sheltered and unsheltered individuals and families. We anticipate our clientele growing to over 5,000 individuals and families in 2025.

“This is going to make a significant difference in the lives of those accessing our food pantry,” said Rev. James Pennington, Back Bay Mission’s Executive Director. “We are forever grateful.”
With Operation Round Up, Coast Electric members make an impact in our local community by rounding their bills up to the next dollar amount each month. For a maximum contribution of just $11.88 a year, members fund worthwhile non-profit organizations in Harrison, Hancock and Pearl River counties.
Thank you to Coast Electric and their members for supporting our food pantry! We could not do it without you!
