Job Description

Education:           

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., marketing, nonprofit management, communications, business) or related experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:                                  

  1. Contribute to the development and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with Back Bay Mission’s mission and goals.
  2. Collaborate with Development Director to identify, plan, organize, and execute innovative fundraising opportunities ensuring seamless execution and maximizing participation.
  3. Cultivate donor relations, ensuring timely and personalized communication to express gratitude and provide updates on the impact of contributions.
  4. Implement strategies to engage and expand donor base including individuals, congregational, corporations, and foundations.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to gather program information and success stories for fundraising materials use.
  6. Work closely with Development Director to develop marketing materials to support fundraising efforts, i.e. event and promotional flyers, yearly annual report, organizational brochures, etc.
  7. Assist in the production of or create content for The Changing Tides, electronic communications, appeal letters, and other communication methods relative to development and fundraising.
  8. Plan, create, organize, and schedule original content for organization’s social media as well as regularly monitor pages’ messages and comments (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
  9. Serve as official in-house photographer for special events, promotions, partnerships, volunteers, staff pictures, etc.
  10. Assist Development Director with development reports to the Board and other agencies.
  11. Assist with grant writing and reporting with thorough knowledge of database system.
  12. Provide guided tours, including sharing organizational history, campus, and potentially worksites.
  13. Participate in and promote community activities and events hosted by organization and/or other outside agencies during and after regular business hours as related to donor cultivation.
  14. Regularly update, monitor, and maintain Back Bay Mission’s website.
  15. Provide technological assistance as needed.
  16. Be available to assist in any other capacities as assigned.

Qualifications:              

  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using fundraising software and tools.
  • Experience in customer service/hospitality.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
