Property Maintenance Worker

Back Bay Mission is looking for a Property Maintenance Worker. Back Bay Mission is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi. This is an exciting time for the Back Bay Mission as we celebrate 100 years of service to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We serve those who are homeless, living in poverty, and those who volunteer with us seeking to help make systemic change. We are a nationally recognized faith-based non-profit that has always been agile and willing to address the most critical needs of underserved populations.

Position Summary: 

The Back Bay Mission Property Maintenance Worker will be a part of our Housing Recovery Team and will report to the Housing Recovery Director.  The Property Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the inspection and repair of Back Bay Mission Property as well as the inspection and repair of basic equipment.  In addition to basic repairs and upkeep, the Property Maintenance individual will perform preventative maintenance where and when needed. 

Salary and Benefits: 

Full-time position at $15 an hour, fully covered health insurance, and a generous pension.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
  • Repair machines, equipment, tools, appliances, or structures as necessary.
  • Assist the Housing Recovery Team, as requested, on site with volunteers.
  • Maintain all Back Bay Mission Properties.
  •  

This individual would also need a strong collaborative and team spirit and the ability to be a strong spokesperson for Back Bay Mission and advocate for the populations we serve when and where required.

The candidate will be able to have appropriate boundaries and high ethical standards.
