Housing Recovery Program Associate
Back Bay Mission is looking for a Housing Recovery Program Associate. Back Bay Mission is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi. This is an exciting time for the Back Bay Mission as we celebrate 101 years of service to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We serve those who are homeless and living in poverty. We also work with volunteers from across the country who come to participate in an immersion learning experience. We are a nationally recognized faith-based non-profit that has always been agile and willing to address the most critical needs of underserved populations.
Role: The Housing Recovery Program Associate will need to have strong people skills and be able to foster good communication with potential recipients of the Energy Wise and Housing Recovery Programs at Back Bay Mission. They will be working directly with our guests determining if the individual or family meets the criteria and/or requirements of the said programs. This includes, but is not limited to, data entry, setting up phone and face-to-face appointments with potential clients and opening and closing files. The Housing Recovery Associate will need skills in working with long-term and short-term volunteers.
Salary Range: This is a half-time position (20 hours per week) and is $15 dollars an hour. This also includes paid time off.
Education: High School, GED, College, or life experiences.
Candidate Profile: The Housing Recovery Program Associate needs a genuine concern for the unsheltered and those living in poverty. The perfect candidate must possess an empathy for and understanding of the problems, limitations, and needs of the unsheltered and/or people living in poverty. The ideal candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills. This individual needs to be a self-starter and have strong organizational skills and value teamwork.
This individual will be a part of the Back Bay Mission Housing Recovery Team and needs to be able to work together collaboratively with the Housing Recovery Program team and the entire staff of Back Bay Mission.
