A happy National Volunteer Week to you! Each year, we like to take this week to recognize and honor all of the people who make our work possible through their gifts of time and work. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers!
The simple fact is that we couldn’t do what we do without the hundreds of volunteers who come to the Mississippi Gulf Coast each year. Hundreds of volunteers from dozens of churches and organizations join us for week-long mission trips. More people from across the country come to the Mission to serve as long-term volunteers for a month or more. And, of course, many local folks come to volunteer for a day or a week – or even several days each week for years on end – to make sure that the poor and marginalized of the Mississippi Gulf Coast are served.
This week, we’ll be sharing more information about our volunteers right here. If you’ve volunteered at Back Bay Mission, we hope you’ll share your story, too. Just leave a comment on our website or Facebook page, or email us with the subject ‘volunteer story’. We might share it!
And, most importantly, thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who spend their time and their energy strengthening neighborhoods, seeking justice, and transforming lives!
